Colored Convention.
We have been requested by prominent citizens to suggest to the colored citizens of Giles the propriety and importance of holding a convention for the purpose of appointing delegates to represent their own race and color in the grand State Convention to be held at Nashville, on the 16th inst. The colored Conservatives of Giles will, undoubtedly, be admitted to a voice in the Convention, and they should take steps at once to have themselves properly represented. Conventions are being held and delegates appointed from other counties, and the whole colored population is fully alive to the importance of defeating their life-long ling enemy, Brownlow.
